Philip Kramer was President and Treasurer- Alpha Zeta Omega fraternity
Philip Kramer was born August 27, 1904 on Fawn Street in Baltimore, MD. He died December 30, 1997 and was interred at Beth Tfiloh Cemetery in Woodlawn, MD.
Philip Kramer went to Public School #2, Baltimore City College (1924) and graduated from Pharmacy School in 1927 from University of Maryland. As a teenager, Philip worked in his father's barber shop (Kramer's) at 119 S. Bond Street in Maryland.
Philip had three siblings: Jessie (Kramer) Silverman, Sam Kramer, William "Bebe" Kramer. Philip was the eldest son. Philip married Lee Labovitz on June 23, 1929 and went into Labovitz Department Stores, later becoming the President of Labovitz Dept. stores. In 1945 he opened his own business, Kramer's West End Corporation, 1100 West Baltimore St. He also ran an installment business with collection routes through Baltimore into Hanover, Pa and surrounding areas. In later years (his 80s), after retirement, he sold hearing aids.
Philip and Lee Kramer had two children, Paul R. Kramer, and Joan (Kramer) Caplan.
Philip Kramer was involved in many lodges and fraternities: President and Treasurer- Alpha Zeta Omega fraternity, Supreme Treasurer- Alpha Zeta Omega Fraternity for 2 years, President and Treasurer- Verity Club, Worshipful Master- Masonic Lodge, 1950, Treasurer- Masonic Lodge for 25 years, Chancellor Commander- Knights of Phythias, Baltimore City College 1924 (Basketball and Class Baseball Team), Sergeant at Arms- University of Maryland Class of 1926, Pharmacy, President of 9 stores owned by Jacob Labovitz in the latter years of existence, President- Jacob Labovitz Department Stores, Inc.
