Howard County Jewish Community School in Columbia, was founded in 1971 as a joint venture of the Columbia Jewish Congregation, Temple Isaiah, and Congregation Beth Shalom. In 1993 the school came under the sole direction of the Columbia Jewish Congregation, a Reconstructionist-affiliated synagogue; the other two synagogues having founded their own schools by this time.
