Invitation to the wedding of Annie Kimmel to Frank Kimmel, March 29, 1898, Mikro Kodesh Synagogue, framed together (by JMM) with five other wedding invitations.
Printed in English and Yiddish. Interestingly, the invitation appears to be coming from the groom.
"Mr. Frank Kimmel,
request [sic] the pleasure of your company at the marriage ceremony of
Annie Kimmel [sic] to Frank Kimmel,
Tuesday, March 29th, 1898, at 5 P.M.
Reception at H.Y.M. Hall, Cor. Baltimore and Bond St.s
Ceremony at Mikro Kodesh Synagogue, S. High St.
Bride's Residence, 309 N. Exeter Street.
Please bring this Invitation with you."
Census and other genealogical research shows that Frank arrived in the US in 1890, and Annie in 1895. Virginia death records give Annie's maiden name as Orkin, but both this invitation and the Maryland state marriage records say she was Annie Kimmel at the time of the March 29, 1898 marriage.
